ON TOUR: BBTBTE 2006, The Forum, London, UK

This was it. On October 31st 2006, Lordi played at The Forum, London, UK. This was not only the last show on the Bringing Back The Balls To Europe 2006 tour, but it was also Halloween night and a very special guest was about to make a surprise appearance on stage. A surprise not only to the fans in the audience, but to the band as well. Kalma had traveled from Finland to London for this show and during the encore, he grabbed one of Amen’s guitars and joined the band on stage to play the last two songs on the setlist; Hard Rock Hallelujah and Would You Love A Monsterman? This was a once in a lifetime chance to see all these six monsters up on stage at the same time. This was also the last public appearance of Kalma. Earlier that year, he had joined the band on one show at Nosturi, Helsinki to play WYLAM? but back then he played a second bass. I haven’t seen any other photos of Kalma on this show, so I think these are the only hard evidence of this ever happening!

And because it was Halloween eve, Mr. Lordi thought I shouldn’t be selling merchandise looking like my boring old self, so he painted some Alice Cooper makeup on my face and I was good to go! We even took a few friend photos with Kalma before the show. This was and still is the best Halloween party I’ve ever been to. Only 28 of these photos were up on the original MDH website, so here’s many never-before-seen shots from that night, and of Kalma too!

After this show, the BBTBTE 2006 tour was done and it was time to travel back to Finland. We were all very much relieved but kinda sad too. This tour was mostly a success; so many sold out venues, so many awesome shows and so much merchandise sold, so many unforgettable memories I’ll remember ‘til the end of time. There was still one show left in Finland in a next few days, but I had to skip it, because guess what, on that day while I was setting up the merchandise booth, I felt a little dizzy and tired. I had to check and I had a fever of 41°C (106°F)… I was so bummed. I went all the long tour without getting sick or anything, but right when we got home, I was out. Anyways, that closed, up until that point, the busiest year in Lordi history and it was a fucking blast!
