New album sneakily announced for 2023

On September 9th Lordi dropped the above teaser image with no caption, only “2023“ on their social media channels. Now that the Lordiary biography book has been out here in Finland for about a week, we can talk about it in detail without spoiling too much for the majority of the people. The last chapter of the book is called SCREEM WRITERS GUILD, a wordplay and a Lordified version of The Screen Writers Guild, an organization of screenplay authors back in the Golden Age of Hollywood. All the other chapters in the book are named after different albums and eras, so it’s safe to say this will be the title of the next album too. One of the last things mentioned in the book is that the band’s manager informed Mr. Lordi at the end of January this year that they should begin making a new album.

Also, in a recent interview by Kaaoszine.fi, Mr. Lordi said that the next album is already done, but we’ll have to wait just a little longer. Is it gonna be a traditional Lordi album? Are we gonna see some old time Hollywood monster and graphical theme and style during the upcoming era? We’ll just have to wait for a proper official announcement, but now we have something really interesting to look forward to in 2023.
