IN STUDIO: November 14th 2007, Beast Loose In Paradise

This week’s throwback gallery is a smaller one, but it won’t get more behind-the-scenes-y than this! On November 14th 2007 I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the producer, Jyrki Tuovinen’s Fried -studio, when they recorded the keyboards and the lead vocals for two new songs. Beast Loose In Paradise would be the end credits theme song for the upcoming Dark Floors movie. The other new song they recorded was called Studs ‘n’ Leather and it wasn’t released until about 3 years later as a bonus track on the Japanese version of Babez for Breakfast album.

Even though at this point I had been to and seen almost everything imaginable with Lordi, this was my first time in a recording studio seeing and hearing how the sausage gets made. I was so excited to finally see some of the band members, Awa and Mr. Lordi, actually making their music. Kita visited the studio at one point and Mr. Lordi’s vocal coach, Tracy Lipp joined for lunch and when they started to record the vocals. I wrote an article about this visit on the original MDH website back in the day. And guess what, with Mr. Lordi’s permission, MDH was the first to tell the name of the new song Beast Loose In Paradise to the public. And later, also the first to show the single cover image heavily inspired by the Creatures of the Night album by KISS. Of course I can’t show too much in the photos, but here’s a few from that super awesome and fun day.
