LIVE: February 9th 2007, Katinkulta, Vuokatti, Finland
In 2007, Lordi played only two shows here in Finland and I have photos from only the first of them. The first gig of the year was at Katinkulta, Vuokatti on February 9th. This was the first time the new Biomechanic Man -mask design was in use. And a version of it still is today! After the show, the band had a quick meet & greet and a signing session with some of the fans.
Next up was the show at Pietarsaari Ice Hall the following night. Sadly, I don’t have any pictures from there but I have a pretty good reason for that. The tour manager Tommi couldn’t be there so he recruited me to take over the tour manager’s duties for the show. I was blown away. If someone had told me about five years earlier, when I first found out about Lordi, that one day I’d be doing this for this band, I would’ve said they were out of their minds, even if it was just for one night only. I even got my own walkie-talkie with an ear piece. Such a professional! But in all seriousness, that’s one of those memories I’ll treasure for the rest of my days!
