As we speculated here on MDH a few months ago, the theme of the album draws very much inspiration from the Universal Monsters and other classic Hollywood horror films and the band’s overall look is definitely the biggest departure from a previous one it has ever been! We see Mr. Lordi bearing a resemblance to Boris Karloff’s portrayal of Frankenstein’s monster, Hella rocking the Bride of Frankenstein looks that kill, Mana being inspired by Bela Lugosi’s Count Dracula with the bowtie and the medallion, Hiisi becoming truly a Creature from the Black Lagoon and Kone getting into hairy situations as a classic werewolf. Did you find other references and easter eggs in the cover art and the track list?

UPDATE January 27th 15:00: Lordi’s propmaster Jessycho posted on Instagram early this morning and hinted that this look we see on the album cover may not be exactly what the finished costumes will end up looking like.

Not only something for the eyes if not something for the ears too! The first single off the album is called Lucyfer Prime Evil and it’s digitally out right now! Accompanied with a brand new animated lyric video you can view right down below. The song is classic ’80s inspired horror Lordi with amazing guitar tracks that really show off what Kone brings to the table! We are living very exciting times and the monstermania is once again growing into new heights.
